Kelly Wellington Counselling
Get to know me

Hi there, I’m Kelly Wellington, MBACP (Accred). I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Before training to be a counsellor, I worked in both the public and private sectors. This has given me an understanding of the different expectations and restrictions that people can face within these workplace environments.
I am an integrative counsellor with a core training in person-centred theory. What this means is that I tailor my approach to each individual, as we know we are not all the same and neither is therapy. Predominantly, I offer a talking therapy, I provide an office space that we can create a safe environment together, thinking about your individual challenges and how we might work together to make things feel easier for you. Over my years as a counsellor, I have gained a wide understanding of counselling theories which inform the work that I do and the interventions I might offer in sessions.
In an ever changing world, I ensure that I stay up to date with CPD (continued professional development) to support my clients. I am about to study EMDR – (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) this is especially effective in supporting individuals with trauma processing, fears and phobias.
I also have a very keen interest in Neurodevelopmental trauma and Neurodiversity. The latter forms the large majority of my client base at the moment.
In addition to being an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and my other training and qualifications are set out below:
